As a practising vet, I’m absolutely convinced by the importance of a healthy diet for the long term health and wellbeing of our pets, and this is why I’m always looking at how we can improve the way we feed our pets.
Here at Pets’ Kitchen we have led the way in developing high-quality all-natural diets for pets with our Joe & Jack’s and Joe & Jill’s ranges, but now we are looking at going even further with a really exciting new idea which I feel could revolutionise the way we feed our pets.
The concept is to create bespoke foods for individual pets based on our expert analysis of their specific health and lifetsyle needs. This is because while a one-size-fits-all natural diet works well in general, I believe that we can deliver even better nutrition by tailoring a diet specifically to the requirments of each individual. This would involve using our in-house veterinary expertise to create foods that perfectly match the nutritional requirements of each animal, with bespoke levels of protein, fat and fibre, and ingredients that take into account the animal’s individual dietary requirements and even likes and dislikes.
I really believe this idea has got great potential to improve the health and wellbeing of our pets through better and more appropriate diets – but it is an ambitious project that will not be straightforward to deliver.
