As a relatively well-known vet, I often get people approaching me with new and interesting products and services for pets, from pet detective services to exciting new food products. I love finding out about all these innovative ideas, particularlywhen they help with a specific welfare issue, which is exactly the case with a new product from one of our customers here at Pets’ Kitchen called the HolCol – it’s a special temporary collar that’s used to identify dogs while they are boarding or being looked after by friends and has been designed by Sam Kelly to try and reduce the number of dogs that end up in pounds and rescue centres while their owners are away.
Here is Sam’s description of the HolCol:
“Holcol is a temporary ID collar for you to write your temporary contact details on. The holcol is a bright green collar for your dog to wear with its normal collar and tag, giving the finder of your lost dog up to date information on how to contact you as quickly as possible. Even from a distance anyone seeing your dog wearing a holcol will know it’s in unfamiliar surroundings and possibly lost.”
There is more information on her website at http://holcol.co.uk/index.htm and we will be including some of Sam’s leaflets with our deliveries in the next few weeks to try and help promote what is a very clever and worthwhile idea.
