Last week was a particularly hectic week with loads going on here at Pets’ Kitchen and in the surgery, and then a day out and about filming with the BBC for The One Show.
The One Show film is all about puppy farming and the terrible conditions that many puppies are brought up in before they are sold on to unsuspecting owners. We interviewed a lady from near Oxford who’d been sold a very sick puppy through the window of her car as she tried to turn around and escape from a very seedy looking housing estate, and then we looked at the more positive side of things by talking to a really good breeder and also seeing a puppy training class full of happy and well-brought up puppies.
It was a really long and tiring day but I think the end result will be an interesting film that helps to educate people about the dangers of buying puppies from unlicensed and unscrupulous dealers.
As things stand the film is scheduled to go out on Monday 1st March at 7pm on BBC 1 so look out for it!
