There’s nothing quite like home cooking to bring
a smile to your face – and a wag to the tail of your dog! I’ve specially designed all of these recipes – with a little help from a certain dog – so they are easy for you to cook at home for your dog, and I’ve made sure they’re all really healthy and totally tasty.
There are everyday meals, which you can feed along with your dog’s Joe & Jack’s, and special meals for those one-off occasions such as doggy birthdays – and even some recipes designed for elderly dogs and dogs with health problems such as diabetes.
If you and your dog enjoy trying out these recipes, Joe's complete recipe books, 'Canine Cuisine' and 'Feline Feast', are available from our bookshop.
This recipe is full of the goodness of liver, and the fresh vitamins you can only get from fruit such as banana. It's ideal as a special treat for puppies and adult dogs - either serve on its own or pour over his dried dog food – either way he’ll lap it up.
For enough for 2 or 3 drinks, you’ll need:
Place the liver in a large bowl and cover it with boiling water. Leave it to cook for ten minutes and then drop it into a blender with the peeled banana and milk. Blend everything together (remember to put the lid on the blender – a mistake I’ve made once…) and serve straight away.
